Chris Wright is Chief Executive of Catch22. He has spent over 25 years building expertise in criminal justice and children’s social care. As a practitioner, manager and strategic leader, he has delivered justice and social care interventions and strategy on a national scale.
He began his career as a social worker and then probation officer, moving on to senior roles in the youth justice sector. He established Nottingham YOT in the 1999 before becoming Head of Performance at the Youth Justice Board in 2001, where he was responsible for the youth justice performance framework across England and Wales.
Since becoming CEO of Catch22, Chris led its transition to a social business, working with partners across a range of sectors, to deliver services for people in tough situations across the country, including apprenticeship and employability services, training and support for care leavers, education and justice services. He is an advocate for the social sector playing a greater role in the delivery of public services.
