I’m a Sustainability Expert, Get Me Out of Here!

18:30 - 21:00

On December 7th we celebrated the humour and bravery that lies within the sustainability movement. This year’s game show, “I’m a Sustainability Expert, Get Me Out of Here!”, saw the All Stars take on the mighty M&S through general knowledge, business and sustainability rounds.
With everyone having handheld devices, the competition took place on many levels. In addition to the two teams slugging it out on stage, the audience competed in 10 teams and individually. We pushed ourselves to our technological limits to identify where knowledge lies.
The theme of the year was “jungle”. We had our own sustainable version of the Bushtucker Trials, and the aftershow nibbles which included a new generation of edible insects that gave everyone a glimpse of a sustainable, high protein future.
After his outrageously good Sue Barker impression last year, Ed Gillespie was hosting it again. There was much speculation over what he’ll be wearing, with the smart money on “Jungle Jane”. This year’s brave gladiators were;

  • Mike Barry, Director of Plan A, M&S
  • Carmel McQuaid, Head of Sustainable Business, M&S
  • Adam Elman, Global Head of Delivery - Plan A, M&S

  • Juliet Davenport, CEO, Good Energy
  • Leo Johnson, Author, Turnaround Challenge
  • Bola Gibson, Head of Community Engagement, TSB Bank

Round Tables

Audience team challenge

Instead of our usual roundtables we’ll have 10 teams competing through 5 rounds of questions of multiple choice questions, with a shoot out if there are tied winners at the end. Each table will be a different jungle animal - you can choose your tables on the night.

Venue Detail

Bank of America Merrill Lynch: King Edward Hall

King Edward Hall | 2 King Edward Street | London | EC1A 1HQ

Bank of America's offices are a very short walk from St Paul's tube station (Central Line). Exit the station at Cheapside/Newgate Street. Go past the BT centre, with it on your right-hand side and take the first available right down Edward Street. Continue down this road for 80m and the entrance to the venue is on your left-hand side.

Do not go to the main reception desk at their offices when you arrive. You are looking for an entrance that leads you directly into the King Edward Hall.
