Kate Millar joined Barclays in 2010 when she emigrated to the United Kingdom from her native Australia. She is currently the Head of Thought Leadership, Learning and Innovation and manages a diverse portfolio of initiatives as part of Barclays firm-wide Citizenship agenda - spanning ethical decision-making through to environmental strategy.
Prior to joining Barclays Kate worked in sustainability for ANZ, one of Australia’s largest financial institutions and a global banking supersector leader in the Dow Jones Sustainability Index. Kate has led a range of highly successful programmes including asset building, financial literacy and microlending products.
Kate is passionate about social and financial inclusion, and is a Trustee for the Youth Work Foundation which was launched in 2013 to promote and support the youth work profession. She has previously worked in the not for profit sector in Australia, specifically in child welfare and development. Kate has a Bachelor of Arts/Commerce with majors in Finance and International Relations from Deakin University, and is currently completing a Masters in Development Studies.
