Lucy Siegle is a British journalist and writer on environmental issues. She has written a weekly ethical living column for The Observer since 2004, and two books, including Green Living in the Urban Jungle and To Die For. Lucy has contributed to various television and radio programs, including magazines Marie Claire, Grazia and Elle. She reports and speaks about environmental issues on TV and radio, including ITV1's The 5 O'Clock Show, Five's The Wright Stuff, Sky News and BBC Radio 4's You and Yours and is a current reporter for BBC One's The One Show.
Lucy is on a mission to empower the consumer to take control. She hopes to correct carbon footprints and bring back small scale production. This ethos lead her to initiate the ethical fashion initiative The Green Carpet Challenge with Livia Firth, which took her on to the Oscars red carpet.She launched the Observer Ethical Awards dubbed the Green Oscars in 2005.
