Mark is President & CEO, GE UK & Ireland.  He also has responsibility for the Benelux countries.  In this role, he works to raise GE’s profile and identify new opportunities for growth.    His goal is to show customers that GE is uniquely positioned to be a strategic partner to them and can help solve their financing, energy, healthcare and other infrastructure needs.  Mark was appointed President & CEO, GE UK & Ireland in April 2009.

Mark, a GE Officer, previously held the position of Vice President and General Counsel, Europe and European Regulatory Affairs, GE International, based in Brussels, were he was responsible for leadership of the legal & compliance functions and regulatory affairs in Europe.

Mark joined GE in March 2004 as EVP and General Counsel of GE Insurance Solutions (ERC), based in Kansas City, MO.  Before joining GE, Mark was a senior partner in the Insurance & Reinsurance group at CMS Cameron McKenna in London.

Mark was educated at Eton College, graduated with Honours from Exeter University in 1979 and attended the College of Law in London (1979-81).  He qualified as a solicitor at Hewitt Woollacott & Chown (a predecessor firm of Cameron McKenna) in 1983 and was made a partner in 1988. Mark passed, and was admitted, to the Missouri Bar in September 2004.

Mark is 51, and is married with five children. He lives in the UK.
