Martin Stead joined EDF Energy in January 2008 as Brand Director. He is responsible for developing EDF Energy’s brand positioning, brand-led concepts and propositions, and bringing this to life through integrated marketing communications. In this role, Martin works closely with the Sustainability Strategy department, and with the B2C and B2B business units.
Martin’s goal is to build EDF Energy’s reputation as the company that is developing sustainable energy solutions today, in order to bring about a lower-carbon tomorrow. A significant element of this task involves de-mystifying ‘carbon’ for the public, and engaging the nation in reducing Britain’s carbon footprint. He led the development of the Eco2020 and EcoRenew propositions which launched in 2009, and he is currently launching ‘Green Britain Day’ and ‘Team Green Britain’, an ambitious programme to engage the nation in coming together to combat climate change, in partnership with London 2012, and in association with the Eden Project.
Prior to joining EDF Energy, Martin worked for 7 years at Procter & Gamble in Geneva; responsible for the Ariel Brand in Western Europe, and latterly for NPD for the global Oral-B franchise.
Martin graduated with Honours in History from the University of Cambridge in 1999. He is 32 and lives in London.
