Patrick joined the Department Energy and Climate Change earlier this year to Head the Energy Bill team.
Patrick has spent most of his career in the civil service and wider public sector working in several departments in policy and delivery (mostly in the energy and environment sectors) and project and programme management roles. Most recently, leading work on Major Infrastructure Planning and National Policy statements in CLG and previous to that, roles including leading Defra’s land use project and Defra’s interests in the Severn Tidal Power Feasibility Study, project; managing the Climate Change Bill; working in TFl on the London Low Emission Zone, and leading the Natural Environment and Rural Communities Bill. Patrick’s background is in science, with a B.Sc. in Applied Physics and Geology from Durham University and a Doctorate in Hazard Geology and Geophysics from Oxford University.
