Dr. Reiner Hengstmann was born in 1962 in Germany.   He finished his university education at the University of Paderborn with a PhD in Chemical Science.   Dr. Hengstmann is currently the Global Director PUMA.Safe Supply chain, overseeing with his team of 15 people the environmental and social issues for the supplier’s worldwide and leading the PUMA.Safe program through which PUMA aims to reduce its carbon footprint, facilitate the development of sustainable products and raise work and production standards globally. He is responsible as well for the development, communication and implementation of environmental related duties in the company and along PUMA’s worldwide supply chain.

1991 – 1995  Director of the “Chemischen Labors Dr. Weßling Ltd”.  In Halle/Saale, Saxony, Germany.   Responsible for environmental analysis of air, soil and water.

1995 – 1996  Scientist at the University of Nuermberg-Erlanrgen at the chair of Environment – and Recycling Technologies.

1996 – 1997  Director of the Research and Development Center for Hazardous Waste in Schwabach, Bavaria, Germany

1998- 1999  Additional Studies at the University of Marketing and Sales

1999 – 2009 Global Head Environmental and Social Affairs, PUMA AG

Since 2010  Global Director PUMA.Safe Supply chain

Responsible for the implementation and observation of environmental and social standards along the supply chain and within PUMA.
